WBC Boxing Rankings
Did you know that a boxer must be in the top 15 to fight for that organisations title? This applies to the four main governing bodies above.
WBA Rankings
Did you know that some governing bodies allow a boxer to postpone a mandatory defence of his title if a unification bout becomes available? Unification bouts involve champions recognised by two (or more) organisations fighting each other.
IBF Boxing Rankings
Did you know that a boxer can be stripped of his title if he fails to make weight for a title defence? The now vacant belt is still available to the challenger in that contest, assuming he wins the bout.
WBO Rankings
Did you know that all the main governing bodies in boxing don’t like boxers to be champions in two weight divisions at the same time? If a champion moves up (or down) in weight and captures the title, then he is given a set period of time to decide which of the two belts he wishes to keep.
Ring Magazine Rankings
